The Jassy  Dean Trust is thrilled to again be the official charity of the 2016 Waiheke Wharf 2 Wharf

This will be the third year we have been lucky enough to be selected by Rotary as the official local charity for the event.

We will use this opportunity to fundraise for a Wombat Chair for 6 year old Waiheke girl Vayla Petersen.

Vayla is 6 years old and suffers from Cru di Chat syndrome as well as Bronchiectasis. These conditions together mean Vayla is often hospitalised with chest infections and has trouble meeting developmental milestones.

Vayla loves to be mobile but at times her ill health and tiredness mean she cannot walk or gets very wobbly and has falls. A Wombat Chair will help to reduce Vayla's reflux and vomiting as well as being a safer chair that can't be tipped over. Being able to wheel Vayla from the table to the bathroom and around the house will conserve Vayla's energy and save her Mum's back.

You can get behind our fundraising efforts by signing up to run or walk the event as a 'Champion' or by making a donation to Vayla via one of our Champions Give a Little fundraising pages

The chair will cost over $6000 so we're going to need the community to dig deep!

We urge you to get involved in the 2016 Wharf 2 Wharf by entering one of the many distance options available. It's an awesome event and will be celebrating its 25 year Anniversary. A great achievement for a fantastic family event. You can find out more and enter the event here.
